Series Summary: In Victorian-era Europe, a young boy loses everything he once held near and dear to a vicious plot. In his moment of death, he strikes a deal with a demon: his soul, in exchange for revenge. Ciel Phantomhive is now the head of the Phantomhive corporation, handling all business affairs as well as the underground work for the Queen of England. His new partner is a demon butler, Sebastian Michaelis, whose powers as a butler is only surpassed by his strength as a demon.
The story follows the two along with their other servants, as they work to unravel the plot behind Ciel's parents' murder, and the horrendous tragedies that befell Ciel in the month directly after.
Note: There is a kuroshitsuji and kuroshitsuji 2 which is just a continuation, as always both will be reviewed in one.
Kuroshitsuji: 8/10. Although the story seems pretty clear at first, it suddenly gets a lot more complicated. Many episodes in this series will have you wondering if they have anything to do with the story or are just filler episodes. Because sometimes an episode that seems like a filler episode turns out to be part of the story. However, there are a bunch of just plain side story fillers in the series as well. In fact, theres so many fillers you start to think that the whole series is just a bunch of random stuff that Ciel and his butler do/encounter. Although many episodes do tie in to the main story, that is still the case for a lot of episodes.
Despite this, the plot has many twists and turns, and makes you think about whats going, like your solving a mystery. This anime is also pretty comedic proving lots of true humor, despite being considered as a "dark" anime. Each character is very unique and has their own special personality. Many of the main characters are likeable and you'll get attached to them quickly. Also the main thing that annoyed me was the amount of unanswered questions. There were so many times where they didnt explain how something happened.
If you like animes with adventure and fantasy this isnt an anime for you. However, if you like dark animes with complex plots and humor, this is the anime for you.
